India's auto retail sales buck the trend, rise 2% in November
Against expectations, India's auto retail sales grew by 2% in November 2025—even though this month usually sees a dip after the festive rush.
The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) credits this boost to steady consumer confidence, GST rate cuts, and OEM-dealer retail offers.
Passenger cars soar, bikes slow down
Passenger vehicle sales jumped an impressive 20%, with compact SUVs and wedding season demand leading the way.
Meanwhile, two-wheeler registrations dipped by 3% as most buyers had already made their purchases in October.
FADA President CS Vigneshwar added that GST cuts and ongoing dealer offers helped keep people coming to showrooms even after festival shopping wrapped up early this year.
Inventory levels for cars also improved, hinting at a healthier balance between supply and demand.
