Japanese firm Aspark unveils world's fastest electric hypercar, the Owl Roadster

Auto

Meet the Owl Roadster—Aspark's new open-top electric hypercar that rockets from 0 to 97km/h in just 1.72 seconds.
Only 20 of these will ever exist, each with an estimated price tag of about $3.5 million.

What makes it so fast?

The Owl Roadster runs on four electric motors pumping out a massive 1,953hp and 1,920Nm torque.
Even with a big battery onboard, its lightweight carbon fiber build keeps it agile and helps it reach 299km/h in 9.74 seconds.

Where does it stand among rivals?

While the BYD Yangwang U9 Track Edition holds the top speed record for EVs, the Owl Roadster now claims the title of fastest-accelerating road-legal electric hypercar—just edging out Rimac Nevera by a blink.
