Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara's India launch tomorrow: Check expected price, features
Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch its first-ever electric SUV, the e-Vitara, in India on December 2. The highly anticipated model will be offered in two battery options: a 49kWh pack and a larger 61kWh unit. The batteries use LFP 'blade' cells from Chinese battery giant BYD. Here's all you need to know about Maruti's upcoming EV.
Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara: Expected price and range
The e-Vitara is expected to be priced between ₹17-22.5 lakh for the 49kWh variants, while the larger 61kWh pack could push the price higher. The vehicle will offer a claimed range of up to 500km on a full charge with front-wheel drive (FWD) configuration. Power output is expected to be between 142-172hp with torque around 192.5Nm, making it suitable for daily use.
The car is 4,275mm long
The design of the e-Vitara closely resembles that of the eVX concept, which was first unveiled at the Auto Expo in January 2023. Despite Suzuki's generally conservative design philosophy, the vehicle retains its muscular bodywork with ample dark cladding around its base. This lends it a rugged appearance without sacrificing aerodynamics. The car is 4,275mm long, 1,800mm wide, and 1,635mm tall. It features a 2,700mm wheelbase while the ground clearance is 180mm.
It offers a tech-foward cabin
The e-Vitara's cabin has a clean, contemporary layout highlighted by a floating dual-screen setup, piano-black accents, and a layered, shelf-style dashboard. It features a two-spoke steering wheel, silver-trimmed rectangular air vents, a rotary gear controller, and seats finished in a fabric-leatherette mix. The cabin is loaded with tech, including electronic parking brake, multiple driving modes, climate control, wireless charging, smartphone connectivity, and ADAS. Rear-seat space and overall comfort are enhanced by the EV's tall stance and extended wheelbase.
