India launches ₹25,060 crore export promotion mission to counter tariffs

Business

India just rolled out a massive ₹25,060 crore Export Promotion Mission to help local businesses tackle high tariffs imposed by the US.
Over the next six years, the plan is to make it easier for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to get funding and improve things like product quality and international branding—basically giving them a better shot at selling worldwide.

The mission has 2 main parts

The mission has two main parts: Niryat Protsahan puts ₹10,401 crore toward making trade finance more accessible for MSMEs, while Niryat Disha uses ₹14,659 crore to help with things like meeting export standards and building global brands.
Sectors like textiles and marine products will get special attention since they are among those impacted by recent global tariff escalations.
The whole effort will run through a digital platform managed by the DGFT.
