Xiaomi has finally unveiled its much-awaited 'Desh Ka Smartphone': the Redmi 5A, which was launched in China in October.
The 5A comes in two variants: 2GB RAM+16GB storage, and 3GB RAM+32GB storage. While the former will cost Rs. 5,999, the other one will go for Rs. 6,999.
But the first 5mn buyers will get a flat Rs. 1,000 off.

What does the 5A look like?

The Redmi 5A comes with 5-inch display, a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera, bluetooth, GPS, as well as a micro USB port for data transfer.
It runs on Android Nougat-based MIUI 9 and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC and a 3000mAh battery.
The biggest attraction is the microSD card slot, something Xiaomi hasn't managed to provide till now.

One of the major highlights of the Redmi 5A is its commitment to 'Make in India': Xiaomi says all devices are manufactured locally within the country.
It will be available on www.mi.com and on Flipkart from December 7 in Dark Grey, Gold and Rose Gold colors.
All major stores and Mi Home retailers will also store the new device.

The Chinese company is tied with South Korean electronics giant, Samsung at the top spot in India's market.
With the upcoming India-exclusive budget smartphone, Xiaomi could even beat Samsung in the smartphone race.
It would give a tough competition to other low-cost device makers like Micromax, Karbonn, and others.
