Delhi: Bureaucrats deputed in private hospitals for better COVID-19 management

Seeking better COVID-19 management, the Delhi government has deputed bureaucrats in private hospitals also in view of the raging pandemic in the city, officials said on Saturday.

A total of 10 IAS officers have already been appointed nodal officers at various COVID-19 hospitals in Delhi for all the necessary coordination and better patient management.

24 DANICS probationers deployed in state government hospitals

"About 15 DANICS officers have been posted in private hospitals across Delhi to handhold the management and oversee adherence of all COVID measures," the health department said in a statement.

24 DANICS (Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and Daman and Diu Civil Service) probationers have been deployed in state government hospitals to assist the nodal IAS officers, it said.

Each officer will ensure an effective public grievances system: Sisodia

To ensure better management and quick decision-making, 10 IAS officers have been appointed as nodal officers for Delhi government COVID-19 hospitals. Each officer shall be stationed at their respective hospital and ensure an effective public grievances system, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia tweeted on Friday.

The government hospitals include LNJP Hospital, GTB Hospital, DDH Hospital, BSA Hospital, and SGM Hospital, according to the order.

Delhi reported 19,486 new cases on Friday

Delhi recorded its highest single-day spike on Friday with 19,486 new cases. The National Capital's cumulative tally has swelled to 8,03,623.

As per the latest health bulletin, Delhi has lost 11,793 people to the disease.

The national capital has left financial capital Mumbai far behind in the daily tally of COVID-19 cases, with an exponential rise in numbers.

Weekend curfew currently underway in Delhi

Weekend curfew is currently underway in Delhi to arrest the spread of coronavirus.

Aimed at breaking the chain of spiraling coronavirus infections, it will run from 10 pm on Friday till 5 am on Monday.

The government will review the situation in Delhi following the weekend curfew and decide the future course of action, including its extension or some other measures, officials said.
