Amy Rohinton Dastur or Amyra Dastur, as she is popularly known, hails from Mumbai. Amyra created waves in Bollywood with her performance in her debut film ‘Issaq’ in 2013. Her performance in the film earned her a Filmfare nomination. Dastur was born on May 7, 1993, in a Parsi family. She was passionate about acting from a very early age. It was the same passion that made her drop out of school to pursue a career in acting. Like many, she began through commercials. Soon, she became a regular face in advertisements with appearances for Vodafone, Micromax, etc. After her successful debut in Bollywood in 2013, Dastur made her debut in Tamil in 2015 with ‘Anegan,’ which was again a success. She received a nomination for the Best Debut Actress in the SIIMA Awards in 2016 for her role. Her movie with Jackie Chan in 2017 was an indication of Dastur’s rising stock. She has since acted in Telugu as well. In 2018, she became the first woman to be on the cover of Just Urbane magazine.
