Born on March 15, 1954, Ila Arun is an Indian folk singer and actor best known for the song ‘Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai’ in the movie ‘Khalnayak’ (1993). She began her acting career in 1983 with the movie ‘Ardh Satya.’ As of 2021, she has appeared in over 20 Bollywood movies. Some of her commercially successful and critically-acclaimed Bollywood movies include ‘Lamhe’ (1991), ‘Ghatak’ (1996), ‘China Gate’ (1998), ‘Jodhaa Akbar’ (2008), Shaadi Ke Side Effects’ (2014), and ‘Manto’ (2018). She began her singing career with the 1986 song ‘Raina Bawari Bhai Re’ of the movie ‘Jaal’ (1986). As of 2021, she has sung for more than 30 Bollywood movies. Some of her hit songs include ‘Chudiyan Khanak Gayee’ from ‘Lamhe,’ ‘Meri Patli Kamar’ from ‘Aatank’ (1996), ‘Masti Ka Aalam Aaya Hai’ from ‘Auzaar’ (1997), and ‘Ghup Chup’ from ‘Karan Arjun’ (1995). She is the recipient of one Filmfare Award. She has appeared in five TV shows as of 2021.
