Kajal Aggarwal, born on June 19, 1985, is an Indian actress who predominantly works in the Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi film industries. She was born and brought up in Mumbai. Aggarwal made her acting debut with the 2004 Bollywood film 'Kyun! Ho Gaya Na'. Later, she made her Telugu debut with the 2007 Teja directorial 'Lakshmi Kalyanam' although 'Chandamama' (2007) was her first commercially successful Telugu movie. While she was supposed to debut with Bharathiraja's 'Bommalattam' (2008) in the Tamil industry, 'Pazhani' became her first Tamil release due to a delay in the former's release. The SS Rajamouli-directed Telugu film 'Magadheera' helped her garner fame and critical acclaim in 2009. It is one of the highest-grossing Telugu films of all time. In the following years, she featured opposite several popular Telugu actors Allu Arjun, Prabhas, and Jr. NTR, among others. The 2010 Telugu romantic action comedy 'Brindavanam' earned Aggarwal the CineMAA Award for Best Actress. In 2011, Kajal made a comeback in Bollywood with the Ajay Devgn starrer 'Singham'. From 2014 to 2021, she has appeared in multiple movies, most of which were commercially successful. In October 2020, she got married to entrepreneur Gautam Kitchlu.
