Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is in the final stages of discussions to collaborate with director Sajid Khan for a new big-budget comedy entertainer, reported Sacnilk. This project will mark their reunion after delivering hits like Heyy Babyy, Housefull, and Housefull 2. The film is reportedly being produced by Ektaa Kapoor. An official announcement is awaited.

The upcoming film will mark Khan's return to feature filmmaking after a long hiatus. Khan was accused of sexual harassment by multiple women during the MeToo movement and hasn't directed a film since Humshakals (2014). Industry insiders say the upcoming project is being designed as a family entertainer and will have plenty of mass-friendly moments.

Kapoor is planning to mount the film on a grand scale. However, Kumar's packed schedule means that the movie will not go on floors immediately. Reports suggest that shooting is tentatively planned for July 2026, allowing Kumar to complete Bhooth Bangla and Welcome To The Jungle. Meanwhile, the team is working on the script, early casting, and pre-production steps. If everything goes according to plan, the film is expected to hit theaters sometime in 2027.
