Alicia Augello Cook is an American songwriter, singer, philanthropist, and actor. She was born on January 25, 1981, and made her debut in 2001 at the age of 15 years with her album ‘Songs in A Minor.’ Between 2001 and 2020, she released nine albums including ‘Unplugged’ (2005), ‘As I Am’ (2007), ‘The Element of Freedom’ (2009), ‘Girl on Fire’ (2012), ‘VH1 Storytellers’ (2013), ‘Here’ (2016) and ‘Alicia’ (2020). Between 2001 and 2021, she has written more than a hundred songs including ‘A Beautiful Noise’ (2001), ‘A Woman’s Worth’ (2001), ‘Back to life’ (2016), and ‘Brand New Me’ (2012) among others. As of 2021, she has received 15 Grammy Awards, 17 NAACP Image Awards, and 12 ASCAP awards. In 2005 and 2017, she was included in ‘The Time’ magazine’s list of Top 100 influential people. She was also conferred with the Ambassador of Conscience Award by Amnesty International.
