Producer reveals 'Apne 2' script undergoing changes after Dharmendra's death

The creators of Apne 2 are reworking the script as a tribute to legendary actor Dharmendra, who passed away recently. Producer Deepak Mukut confirmed that instead of shelving the project, they will now focus on Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol's characters, with Karan Deol being introduced. The team might also book a new director, if required, to ensure the sequel pays homage to Dharmendra's legacy.

Mukut told Mid-Day, "Dharamji was very excited about the sequel. It was one of his wishes to make Apne 2 with his children." "We are reworking the script now, which will be told from the point of view of Sunny and Bobby's characters." He added, "There will be some changes as Dharamji is no more, and we'll miss him dearly. We are working on incorporating Dharamji's character in some way."

'Apne 2' to continue the legacy of original film
Mukut also revealed that Apne 2 will be a continuation of the original film. "If I cannot make a movie with Dharamji, I can pay my respects to him through it. Apne 2 will be made and it will be a tribute to Dharamji." The film will introduce Karan as the son of Angad (Deol). Meanwhile, the original was released in 2007 and also starred Katrina Kaif, Shilpa Shetty, and Kirron Kher.
