Azor Ahai is a fictional character who appears in the fantasy television drama series ‘Game of Thrones’ which is an adaptation of a series of fantasy novels titled ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ by George RR Martin. He is characterized as a legendary figure in R’hllor’s faith who is also known as the Lord of Light. Ahai existed eight thousand years before Aegon’s Landing. According to the stories, Westeros was covered under great darkness and bitter cold which was called ‘The Long Light,’ and Ahai was chosen to fight against it. In order to defeat the darkness, he created a weapon called Lightbringer and fought against the supernatural threat called the White Walkers. The prince was born amid smoke and salt and also had a connection with dragons. ‘The Prince That Was Promised’ is believed to be a reincarnation of Ahai. However, people from Asshai believe in Ahai while people from Westeros believe in ‘The Prince That Was Promised.’
