A bunch of good for nothing idiots
HBO acknowledged that such an incident has taken place. These hackers in order to garner favorable coverage opened up a dialogue with Entertainment Weekly. Their email said, "Hi to all mankind….The greatest leak of cyber space era is happening." I think I am echoing the voices of all GoT fans out there when I say, "Dear Hackers, mankind is not amused by your antics."
Hopefully, there will be no spoilers
The hackers, encouraging others to download the hacked data, said: "Whoever spreads well, we will have an interview with him." According to reports, the Game of Thrones episode they had stolen was the fourth episode of season seven. Which is being broadcast now, so thankfully, no spoilers. However, BBC couldn't verify if the hackers indeed have the material they have claimed to have stolen.

HBO is going after the hackers
HBO said that they have begun investigating and are working with law enforcement and third party cybersecurity firms to get to the bottom of it. HBO chairman and chief executive Richard Plepler emailed employees informing them of the hack and said it was "obviously disruptive, unsettling, and disturbing for all of us."
Star India responsible for Game of Thrones Episode 4 leak
Episode Four of Game of Thrones Season 7, 'The Spoils of War', was released online two days ahead of schedule after Star India was hacked. Like many of HBO's partners, Star India receives the episodes before being aired on television. The leaked print has a "Star India" watermark and is "for internal viewing only". Whether this is connected to the HBO hack is uncertain.
