Richa Chadha wants stories to spark climate action at ALT EFF

Entertainment

Richa Chadha is now the Goodwill Champion for the All Living Things Environmental Film Festival (ALT EFF).
Talking about the climate emergency, she shared, "The climate emergency is here and is now shaping how we live, in real time."
She pointed out that people are already moving cities because of air quality and flooding, and that extreme weather isn't rare anymore.

Why does this matter?

Chadha believes climate change affects everyone—our health, our wallets, and even where we call home.
She said, "There is no economy without ecology," highlighting why telling stories about the planet really matters right now.
ALT EFF runs December 4-14 with over 80 films lined up, backed by Zoya Akhtar and Kiran Rao.

What else is happening at ALT EFF?

Chadha has long spoken up about pollution and saving green spaces. This year's festival will launch a ₹40 lakh filmmaking fund to boost new voices in climate storytelling.
Ambassadors Randeep Hooda and Milind Soman are also on board to help make climate action through cinema a bigger deal.
