Shatrughan Sinha visits Hema Malini, pays emotional tribute to Dharmendra

Bollywood veteran Shatrughan Sinha has paid a heartfelt tribute to his late friend and colleague, Dharmendra. The actor took to social media to announce that he had met with the late actor's family members, including his wife Hema Malini and daughters Esha Deol and Ahana Deol. "Met our dearest family friend @dreamgirlhema," Sinha wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Sinha offered comfort to Malini and her daughters

Sinha wrote, "It was heart breaking to meet her in these traumatic times of her tremendous loss of our dearest family friend, our elder brother @aapkadharam." He added, "Met her two beautiful daughters @Esha_Deol #AhanaDeol with comforting words for their immense loss." The veteran actor also remembered Dharmendra as a "kind & gentle soul," saying, "He isn't with us today, but his memories will live with us forever."

Earlier, Sinha also visited Dharmendra's sons, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, to pay his respects. He wrote on social media, "On my return from Delhi, I went with a very heavy, sorrowful heart to our dearest family friend, our elder brother's @aapkadharam home." "It was heart-touching meeting his wonderful sons @iamsunnydeol Bobby Deol @thedeol, his attractive charming wife Tanya and their handsome sons Dharam & especially Aryaman."

Dharmendra's health and demise

Dharmendra, who was 89 at the time of his death, had been battling health issues for some time. He was reportedly put on a ventilator around mid-November after he complained of breathing difficulties. He passed away on November 24 and was cremated in Mumbai. He will be posthumously seen in Sriram Raghavan's Ikkis, also starring Jaideep Ahlawat and Agastya Nanda. It will premiere on December 25.
