'The Lord of the Rings' trilogy is heading back to theaters

Entertainment

To mark 25 years since "The Fellowship of the Ring," Warner Bros. and Fathom Events are bringing all three extended editions of "The Lord of the Rings" back to theaters for two special weekends in January 2026.

When and where can you watch?

Catch "Fellowship" on January 16 & 23, "Two Towers" on January 17 & 24, and "Return of the King" on January 18 & 25.
Screenings will be at AMC, Regal, and select indie theaters—each movie is nearly three hours long, with "Return of the King" running over three hours, so get comfy!

What's new this time?

Some venues will offer DBOX motion seating during the first weekend.
Plus, AMC fans get exclusive Map Tins and Quest Magnet Sets, while Regal and indie spots have their own special merch for collectors.
