Aarogya Setu

Intended to combat the coronavirus pandemic, Aarogya Setu is a mobile app launched by the Government of India in April 2020. Using the phone’s Bluetooth and GPS, the app informs the user about a nearby (roughly six-feet away) COVID-19 patient, and also if he/she’s (the user) in an infected zone. This is done by scanning the database containing the known infection cases pan India. Not just tracking, the app also shares information on how to stay safe during this critical time. Further, once can obtain an e-pass from the app. An updated version of the now-junked Corona Kavach, Aarogya Setu is available in 11-12 languages, and is apparently being used by 10.27cr Indians. As per a government order, it’s compulsory for all government and private sector employees to download the app.
