CBI says Rabri Devi's transfer plea in IRCTC case is "mala fide"

India

The CBI has accused former Bihar CM Rabri Devi of attempting to scandalize the court and browbeat the special judge by asking to move her IRCTC trial to a different judge.
The agency called her request "mala fide" and "forum shopping," saying the judge has acted independently so far.
Rabri Devi's plea, filed late this year, claimed an apprehension of bias from the current judge.

Why does this matter?

The CBI argues that such transfer requests—especially after months of hearings—slow down justice and can shake trust in the courts.
They pointed out that similar moves were dismissed by the Supreme Court in past cases involving her family.
The agency insists transfers should only happen for solid reasons, not just because someone doesn't like a ruling.
In big political corruption cases like this, keeping courts free from pressure is key for fairness and accountability.
