Chandigarh is stepping up for stray dogs

Chandigarh's Municipal Corporation has initiated a citywide plan to care for stray dogs, after a push from the Supreme Court.
They have identified 200 feeding spots to help keep things clean and peaceful between people and pups.
Plus, a new shelter is under development for animal birth control, anti-rabies shots, and rehab—so it's about both safety and kindness.

Schools and colleges have a part to play

Colleges and schools now need to appoint nodal officers for stray dog issues on campus.
They've been told to build proper boundary walls and improve sanitation so dogs don't wander in.
Once these steps are in place, the MC will kick off animal birth control drives at educational campuses too—making it a team effort across the city.
