Delhi HC cancels divorce decree, sends judge for retraining

The Delhi High Court just threw out a recent divorce order after spotting some serious mistakes by the family court judge.
Turns out, the judge used the wrong law and didn't let the wife properly share her side—definitely not how things are supposed to work.

Why did this happen?

The High Court called out Judge Harish Kumar for mixing up two different marriage laws and skipping basic fairness.
They made it clear: speeding up a case doesn't mean you can ignore legal rules.
Now, both sides get another shot to present their evidence in court.

What's next for the judge?

Because of repeated errors in similar cases, Judge Kumar has to go through extra training on matrimonial law before he hears any more divorce matters.
The people involved will be back in court soon.
