DU Admissions: SRCC's first cut off list is out
Delhi's SRCC has released its cut-off list for BA (Hons) and BCom (Hons) for the session 2017-18. For general category, the first cut-off is 97.75%. Eligible students can apply for admission from June 24-28. Afterwards, the second cut-off list will be issued on July 1. SRCC is known for its unbelievably high cut-offs. In 2015, it soared to as high as 100.75%.
Delhi University Admissions: First cut-off list out
Several colleges of Delhi University including Hansraj, SRCC, Ramjas and Zakir Husain have announced the first cut-off list for the academic session 2017-18. The students can check out the list on the official website of the colleges. The first list was supposed to be out on 20th June but was delayed by 3 days. The second list will be announced on 1st July.

How to apply?
Students who have scored above the cut-off can log on to the Delhi University website and apply for admission. They have to furnish relevant documents for verification, like marksheets, proof of address and more. If the student is approved for admission, they can then complete further formalities on the website, like payment. Physical verification will also be ongoing in the respective colleges.
Cut-throat competition amid soaring cut-offs
This year, three lakh students have applied for various courses in Delhi University, out of which only 56,000 will be accommodated. St Stephens declared its cut-off list ten days ago. For Economics and English, the qualifying mark was above 98% for the general category. Interview is underway. Entrance examinations for specific courses will be held on July 2 and 9.
Category-wise cut-offs for the two courses
SRCC is one of India's top commerce colleges; cut-off percentages in its first list witnessed a marginal drop from 2016. The second cut-off percentages for different categories are: BCom (Honours): General- 97.50%, OBC- 94.50%, SC- 91.25%, ST- 84%, PWD- 87.25%, and Kashmiri Migrants- 87.50%. BA (Honours) Economics: General (Closed), OBC- 95.75%, SC- 94%, ST- 91%, PWD- 94%, and Kashmiri Migrants- 94%.
DU colleges are known for "absurd" cut-offs
Two years ago, several colleges faced backlash after they set their cut-offs at 100% and even above. A candidate without Economics in Class XII needed 100.75% to get admitted in BA (Economics) at SRCC and Hans Raj. Hindu, Kirori Mal, Ramjas, LSR and Miranda House also set cut-offs above 100% for such students. Meanwhile, LSR demanded 100.5% for BA (Psychology).
