Goa jobs scam: Minister, IAS officer, PWD engineer named

India

Goa is facing a big jobs scam—Pooja Naik allegedly collected ₹17 crore from around 600 people, promising them government jobs that never came.
She claims she handed the money over to a Cabinet minister, a senior IAS officer, and a PWD engineer.
Over 33 FIRs have been filed and several arrests made by December 2024.

CM backs probe; opposition demands independent investigation

Naik was arrested in October and has named top officials in her statements. After initially denying political links, police are now digging deeper following her recent claims.
On November 11, she was grilled for nearly three hours by the Crime Branch. The Chief Minister has ordered action against anyone found involved, while opposition leaders are demanding an independent probe as the investigation continues.
