Goa trip turns tragic: Two friends die in Lonavla car crash

A holiday to Lonavla ended in heartbreak for a group of 14 friends from Goa when their car crashed into a tipper truck at Shivling Point early Saturday morning.
Darshan Sutar (21) and Mayur Vengurlekar (24) lost their lives, while the truck driver was treated and released.

Police investigating cause, FIR registered

Police are checking if Sutar, who was driving, might have been under the influence—post-mortem results are pending.
The truck driver has filed a complaint, leading to an FIR against Sutar under road safety laws.
Lonavla rural police are still looking into what exactly went wrong.
