Amid several alerts, Delhi Police had sent out an advisory with photographs and taxi details to track the accused involved in the hijacked Pathankot driver's murder.
The Centre asked the police to be prepared to foil any attempt by terrorists till the Republic Day.
Police have restricted visitors from India Gate and Rajpath and general security has been tightened across the country.

Three unidentified men behind Kangra driver's murder

The CCTV footages of Gaggal Chowk showed three men boarding Vijay Kumar's taxi on 14 January.
The other taxi drivers informed police that the three 'unidentified' men came to hire a taxi to Pathankot and Vijay agreed to drop them at a relatively low fare.
After waiting for the whole night for him to return, Vijay's uncle filed a missing report for his nephew.

Taxi driver's dead body recovered, car still missing

ASP Kangra- Vijay Saklani, reported that Vijay Kumar was found dead near a nullah on Shimla-Pathankot highway on 20 January.
The Kangra police had sent three separate teams to Hoshiarpur district and Pathankot and Lakhanpur in J&K to trace those accused for the murder.
Saklani suspected that the accused took the taxi to Talwara in Punjab through an isolated route.

The Police feared a re-run of the terrorist attack on the Pathankot airbase on 2nd January.
Like the recent Pathankot murder case, the Pathankot airbase attack started with an abduction of the Gurdaspur Superintendent of Police along with his cook and a friend.
The investigating agency had moved the court for conducting a lie-detector on the SP for further NIA investigation.

PM Modi had received a threat letter from the Islamic State warning him against a probable terror attack for the ban of cow-slaughter.
Defence Minister Parikkar dismissed the threat as it was issued on a 50-paise postcard but investigations were made by ATS.
Another letter was sent to the French Consulate demanding that the French President cancel his Republic day visit to India.

Delhi Police had increased the number of buildings to be sanitised for higher security threats this year. Extra paramilitary forces were deployed in New Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru for the safety of the French President.

CIA chips in for Hollande security before R-Day

Ahead of French President Francois Hollande's visit, the American Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has decided to help the Indian government with security measures.
The Haryana police have been asked to submit crime status report for "Gurgaon, Faridabad and other adjoining districts" as part of measures to strengthen Hollande's security.
Special vigil is being maintained around the Aravelli hills known for criminal activities.
