India-Russia summit: Defense talks to dominate agenda

Russian President Vladimir Putin is heading to New Delhi on December 4-5 for the 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit.
The main focus will be boosting defense ties—think more S-400 air defense systems and Sukhoi-57 fighter jets for India.
While these big-ticket items are up for discussion, don't expect any contracts to be signed just yet.

What else is on the table?

India wants to sort out delivery delays and talk about making more military gear together, possibly through joint production or tech transfers.
Energy is also a hot topic, with India still buying lots of Russian oil despite global tensions.
