India sends rescue teams to Sri Lanka as Cyclone Ditwah hits
India
India has stepped in to help Sri Lanka tackle Cyclone Ditwah, sending two NDRF teams with 80 rescuers and four dog squads.
Flying out from Hindon Air Base under Operation Sagar Bandhu, they're bringing along inflatable boats and cutting tools to support relief work.
Leading the mission is P.K. Tiwary from the 8th Battalion, marking the fourth time Indian rescue teams have been sent overseas for a rescue mission.
India boosts cyclone readiness at home too
Back home, India isn't taking any chances—14 NDRF teams are already stationed across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry's coastal districts, with more on their way to Chennai.
The NDRF is teaming up with agencies like the Meteorological Department to stay prepared for anything Cyclone Ditwah throws their way.
