India steps up to help cyclone-hit Sri Lanka

After Cyclone Ditwah struck Sri Lanka on November 27, causing major floods and landslides, India quickly launched Operation Sagar Bandhu.
The disaster left 123 people dead, 130 missing, and over 44,000 affected.
On November 29, the Indian Air Force flew in 12 tons of emergency supplies—including tents, blankets, hygiene kits, and food—to Colombo.
