IndiGo cancels 115 flights at Hyderabad airport on Sunday

India

IndiGo just canceled 115 flights at Hyderabad's main airport, adding up to a huge 519 cancelations there in the past five days.
This is one of the airline's biggest disruptions, affecting travel plans all over India.

Cancelations peaked midweek

Flight cancelations started at 31 on December 3 and shot up to a massive 155 by December 5.
The numbers stayed high, with 144 flights canceled on December 6 and another big hit with Sunday's 115.

Passengers caught in the chaos

Travelers—including Sabarimala pilgrims and even a CRPF officer—have been left scrambling.
With wedding season in full swing, these cancelations have made things extra stressful for anyone trying to get somewhere important.

Why did this happen?

IndiGo says it's dealing with new pilot work rules, scheduling issues, and system changes.
Even so, they managed to run over 700 flights across India on December 6 as things slowly improved.

Government steps in

To help out frustrated flyers, the government put limits on ticket prices and told IndiGo to refund everyone by December 7.
These moves aim to soften the blow for all those affected by the sudden changes.
