Kiran Bedi asks PM Modi to step in on Delhi's pollution crisis
Former Puducherry LG Kiran Bedi has called on Prime Minister Modi to take a more active role in tackling Delhi's severe air pollution.
She suggested that he use his "Mann Ki Baat" radio show to talk about the issue and motivate action, pointing out how his past meetings got officials moving during emergencies.
What she wants done—and why it matters
Bedi is pushing for monthly meetings between Modi and leaders of Delhi's neighboring states to keep everyone accountable and show citizens the government is serious about fixing the problem.
She also thinks educating people through the radio could help.
Despite current efforts, Delhi's air quality is still dangerously bad—on Friday, several parts of the national capital recorded an AQI of 369—so stronger coordination is needed now more than ever.
