Mumbai's air stays unhealthy, court steps in on pollution

Mumbai's air quality has been in the "poor" zone, with AQI numbers hitting 233 recently—mostly thanks to car emissions, construction dust, and winter weather trapping pollutants.
Even with a court-ordered audit of construction sites, the city continues to struggle to meet WHO's safe air standards.

Why should you care?

Breathing this air isn't great for anyone, but it's especially risky for kids and older people—think asthma flare-ups and heart issues.
The Bombay High Court is keeping an eye on things and will check if pollution controls are working by December 15.
For now, clean air in Mumbai is still out of reach.
