Salman Khan walks out of jail after spending two nights
Salman Khan left the Jodhpur Central Jail after being granted bail by Jodhpur Sessions Court in Blackbuck poaching case. The star is expected to take a chartered plane to Mumbai. Rumors have it the star will be accompanied by sisters Alvira, Arpita, and bodyguard Shera. Here are the details.
Earlier today, Salman was granted bail against a surety of Rs. 50,000 by Jodhpur Sessions Court on Saturday. He was given a five-year jail term in 1998 blackbuck poaching case. Khan has been ordered by Judge Ravindra Joshi to appear in appellate court on May 7, for hearing on his appeal against conviction.
Salman Khan's legal counsel Anand Desai, had called the verdict surprising. He had stated the star was acquitted in all other cases, which had the same facts as this one. Desai had said they respected the decision of the Honorable Court. But the acquittal of the co-stars implied that Khan was hunting alone in the middle of the night in Jodhpur.
Salman Khan spent two nights at the Jodhpur Central Jail as prisoner number 106. His bail hearing, that was due Friday, was deferred to Saturday. Dejected fans of the superstar have been praying for the release of Salman Khan, and also flocked the jail where he is kept. Reportedly, Khan's blood pressure had shot up, and he was restless in the prison.
