Tiger blocks road, halts traffic in Maharashtra for 30 minutes
India
A tiger called "Mama Male" surprised commuters on Maharashtra's Chandrapur-Moharli road by sitting right in the middle of the street for about 30 minutes.
Traffic came to a halt while people watched (and filmed) from a safe distance, as the big cat seemed totally unbothered by all the attention.
This happened near Tadoba Tiger Reserve, which is home to around 300 tigers.
Roadside wildlife encounters are becoming common here
Forest officials arrived to monitor the situation until Mama Male returned to the forest—no one was hurt.
The Chandrapur-Moharli stretch is known for frequent animal sightings, with another tiger recently spotted confronting two-wheelers nearby.
These run-ins highlight how roads and wildlife are crossing paths more often as human spaces grow closer to natural habitats.
