Congress leaders are furious over comments made by PM Modi in Rajya Sabha yesterday. Former FM P. Chidambaram said, "It is unbecoming of a PM to use such language for a former PM and certainly unbecoming for anybody to make such a harsh, ugly statement about Manmohan Singh." Congress has threatened to blockade parliament until PM Modi apologizes for his comments against former PM.

Given PM Modi's comments on former PM Manmohan Singh, the Congress party termed Modi as "arrogant" and his comments against former prime minister as "completely unacceptable". Congress VP Rahul Gandhi called PM Modi's comments "shameful" and "demeaning".

Rahul Gandhi said, "Modi ji is perhaps the first Prime Minister who speaks disrespectfully about his predecessors. He should learn some manners." Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said, "Fun, pun, repartee and exchange of mild or strong words are a part of parliamentary convention. Why are the Congress so troubled by this?"
