Congress leaders are furious over comments made by PM Modi in Rajya Sabha yesterday. Former FM P. Chidambaram said, "It is unbecoming of a PM to use such language for a former PM and certainly unbecoming for anybody to make such a harsh, ugly statement about Manmohan Singh." Congress has threatened to blockade parliament until PM Modi apologizes for his comments against former PM.

PM Modi's comments lead to uproar

PM Modi addressed Rajya Sabha yesterday and spoke on issues like black money, terror and impact of demonetization on the country. During the speech, he referred to massive scams India has seen over the years and said man at the helm, former-PM Singh doesn't have a 'stain on him'. He added "Only he knows the art of bathing in the bathroom wearing a raincoat"

    Livid Congress walks out

Given PM Modi's comments on former PM Manmohan Singh, the Congress party termed Modi as "arrogant" and his comments against former prime minister as "completely unacceptable". Congress VP Rahul Gandhi called PM Modi's comments "shameful" and "demeaning".

Congress and BJP clash over comments

Rahul Gandhi said, "Modi ji is perhaps the first Prime Minister who speaks disrespectfully about his predecessors. He should learn some manners." Urban Development Minister M Naidu said Congress needed to apologize for uncharitable comments about PM Modi. Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad defended PM Modi and attacked Gandhi for his 'khoon ki dalali' remark made against PM Modi in relation to surgical strikes.

    BJP makes light of comments

Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said, "Fun, pun, repartee and exchange of mild or strong words are a part of parliamentary convention. Why are the Congress so troubled by this?"
