In a fresh restart to the Samajwadi Party feud, younger daughter-in-law Aparna Yadav said her brother-in-law Akhilesh should hand over the party's control to Mulayam Singh, as he had promised before elections. She also accused insiders of sabotaging her chances in Lucknow Cantonment constituency, blaming "ego clashes" and lack of cohesiveness. Backing CM Adityanath, she praised him for bringing a "positive and secular" change.

A while back, he had issued show cause notices to UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and SP minister Ram Gopal Yadav for anti-party activities.

In a dramatic turn of events, Mulayam Singh Yadav revoked the expulsion of Akhilesh and Ram Gopal Yadav post his meeting with his son. Earlier today, Akhilesh Yadav had said he is not separate from his father and would win UP elections and present it as a gift to his father. UP leader Azam Khan acted as a mediator to resolve the father-son dispute.
SP, Congress finally seal UP elections alliance deal
After months of bargaining, Samajwadi Party and Congress sealed a pre-poll pact to contest the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, ending days of suspense. The two parties have come together in order to thwart BJP's attempt to storm back to power after a 15-year gap. SP will have the larger share of 298 of 403 seats, while Congress will contest the remaining 105 seats.

Mulayam's statement reflects the animosity between the father-son duo following the SP's defeat in the recent UP elections by the BJP.

"While the people of UP voted for me in 2012, I chose to make Akhilesh the chief minister, but he humiliated me thereafter," he said. "He [Akhilesh] continued insulting me for five years and talked to me only for five minutes."

Mulayam said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was correct when he said during a pre-election rally that a man who betrays his father can't ever be loyal to his state's citizens. He said the PM's statement on Akhilesh deterred citizens from voting for the SP. "But I did not say anything to anyone as my own blood was out against me," Mulayam added.
