Kapil Mishra gets security cover from Delhi Police
Delhi Police has granted security cover to sacked AAP leader Kapil Mishra after he reportedly received death threats. After a security analysis by the Special Cell, two personnel were deployed to escort Mishra round the clock. Five others will guard his residence at Civil Lines. Mishra claimed he didn't demand security, but it had been provided after review.
Kapil Mishra beaten up by AAP members inside Delhi Assembly
Sacked AAP minister Kapil Mishra was on May 31 beaten up by the AAPs' supporters after he protested against CM Arvind Kejriwal inside the Delhi Assembly with banners. When Speaker Ram Niwas Goel protested to his demonstration and asked for him to be evicted, AAP members reportedly attacked Mishra and beat him up. Mishra accused Kejriwal and his aides of corruption after getting sacked.
The many allegations of Mishra against Kejriwal and AAP
Among the many charges leveled by Mishra, he said that Kejriwal had taken a bribe of Rs. 2cr, that foreign trips of ministers were funded by a firm being probed for corruption, that a firm owned by Health Minister Satyendra Jain had Rs. 16cr black money. He launched a hunger strike demanding details of the foreign trips, but ended within a week.
AAP leaders came out in support of Kejriwal
Many AAP members came out in support of Kejriwal. AAP legislator Sanjeev Jha went on a hunger strike in response to Mishra's, saying the fast will continue till he proves the CM took Rs. 2cr bribe as he had alleged. Jain also filed a defamation case against Mishra for "defamatory statements". The court has fixed the hearing for July 14.
