Apple Watch now alerts you about high blood pressure

Technology

Apple just rolled out a new feature in India for Apple Watch Series 9, Ultra 2, and newer models that can warn you if it spots signs of chronic high blood pressure (aka hypertension).
You'll need watchOS 26 and an iPhone 11 or later running iOS 26 to use it—just update your devices to get started.

How it works and who can use it

The Hypertension Notifications feature checks your blood vessel reactions over 30 days using the watch's heart sensor.
To turn it on, update your devices, enable the notifications in the Health app, and wear your watch regularly for best results.
It's available if you're 22 or older, not pregnant, and haven't been diagnosed with hypertension before.
If you get an alert, Apple suggests tracking your blood pressure for a week with a proper monitor—following American Heart Association guidelines.
