Want to send your name to the Moon? NASA's Artemis II makes it possible

Technology

NASA is giving everyone a chance to send their name to the Moon on a digital "boarding pass" with the upcoming Artemis II mission, launching by April 2026.
Already, over 932,000 people have signed up through NASA's website.
This mission marks the first time in 50 years that astronauts will head toward the Moon—pretty exciting for space fans!

How it works and why it matters

Your name gets saved on an SD card and travels aboard the Orion spacecraft with four astronauts: Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen.
The crew will launch from Kennedy Space Center in Florida for a 10-day trip around the Moon.
Artemis II isn't just about cool souvenirs—it's testing tech for future lunar missions and even plans for Mars, paving the way for future Moon landings and eventual human missions to Mars.
