Match venues
Host nations and their group stage games
The four host nations—England, Wales, Scotland and Republic of Ireland—will not get automatic qualification for Euro 2028. However, if they qualify directly, they will play all group games in front of their home fans. The opening match could see Wales play at Cardiff's Principality Stadium while England's first game could be at Manchester City's Etihad Stadium. The qualifying draw will take place in Belfast on December 6, 2026.
Withdrawal impact
Northern Ireland dropped as a host nation
Northern Ireland will no longer be a host nation for Euro 2028 after the UK government announced in September 2024 that it would not fund the redevelopment of Casement Park in time for the tournament. The country will still play a role as Belfast is set to host the tournament qualifying draw on December 6 next year.
