    Smith, Maxwell stabilize Australia in third test match at Ranchi

    Captain Steve Smith scored 117 to take Australia to 299 runs on day one of the third test match against India. Winning the toss, Australia lost three wickets in the first session at 89 runs; the fourth one at 140. Smith, along with Glenn Maxwell then went on to put 159 runs together. Maxwell was batting at 82 when the day ended.

    India Australia meet at Ranchi for the third test

    After a win at Bangalore and making a comeback in the four match series, India is now facing Australia in the third test match at the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) Stadium in Ranchi. The series is leveled at 1-1 and this will be a crucial match for the outcome of the series. The third test against India will be Australia's 800th contest.

    Australia calls Maxwell to replace Mitchell Starc

    After Mitchell Starc was ruled out of the remaining series due to an injury, Glenn Maxwell has been called in as a replacement for the Australian bowler. Maxwell will be playing his fourth test match, third against India. He was last seen in the whites when he was playing against Pakistan in 2014. All four of his test matches have been played in Asia.

    Another milestone for captain Smith

    On the way to his 19th test century, Steve Smith achieved another milestone as he completed 5000 test runs. He became the joint seventh fastest batsmen to reach the mark in 97 innings and third quickest in 53 tests after Bradman(36) and Sunil Gavaskar(52).

    Australia scores mammoth runs in third test; India start steadily

    Australian team put on a mammoth score of 451 runs in the first innings on the second day of the third test against India. Steve Smith remained unbeaten at 178, while Glenn Maxwell scored his maiden test century. In reply, India had a steady start and scored 120 runs for the loss of one wicket as the day ended. Rahul was dismissed for 67.

    Another fifer for Jadeja

    Ravindra Jadeja took five wickets for 124 runs at Ranchi to complete his career's eighth five-wicket haul. It was also his fourth fifer this season.

    Pujara scores ton to keep India in fight against Australia

    Cheteshwar Pujara scored his 11th ton in the third test against Australia as India trail by 91 runs at the end of day three. He was accompanied by Murali Vijay, who scored 82 runs. India scored 360 runs for the loss of six wickets, with Pujara (130) and Wriddhiman Saha (18) on the crease. Pat Cummins picked up four wickets for Australia.

    India-Aus 3rd test Day 4: Pujara makes double-ton

    India extended its lead on the 4th day of the 3rd test against Australia as Pujara and Saha added over 175 runs to the board. Pujara faced over 500 balls in the test, surpassing Dravid's record of 495; he also scored a double-ton. As of now, the score is 561 for 8 wickets. India now has a strong grip over the match.
