Europa League, Manchester United beat Granada: List of records broken

Manchester United beat Granada 2-0 in the Europa League quarter-finals to book a place in the semis. United, who went into the second leg with a 2-0 cushion, enjoyed another 2-0 victory to complete an aggregate score of 4-0 against the Spanish outfit. The Red Devils have been drawn against Italian side AS Roma in the semis. Here we present the records broken.

Disciplined United get past Granada

Veteran Uruguayan forward Edinson Cavani provided a smart finish to Paul Pogba's sixth-minute flicked header. The hosts scored a second in stoppage time when Jesus Vallejo turned Alex Telles' cross into his own net. United could have had a few more goals but Bruno Fernandes missed a couple before Mason Greenwood also fired wide. For Granada, Jorge Molina headed straight to David de Gea.

Manchester United boss Solskjaer has his say

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer outlined his thoughts. "We will relish the chance to go to a final," said Solskjaer. "We want to use disappointments from the defeats we have had to motivate us to get to the final." "The next step for this team is to get to a final and win a trophy. That will give this group of players something extra," he added.

Man United script these records

As per Opta, United have reached their 18th semi-final in all European competitions (including the Fairs Cup) - only Liverpool (19) have appeared in more among English clubs.
