Sandeep Patil is a former Indian cricket player who formerly served as the coach of the Kenya national team. Patil has also served as the Indian national age-group cricket manager. The hard-hitting middle-order batsman was born on August 18, 1956, in Mumbai to former first-class cricketer Madhusudan Patil. He served as a coach for Kenya in the ICC World Cup 2003 where they reached the semi-finals for the first time. The BCCI had appointed him as the director of the National Cricket Academy. Patil also served as the chief of the BCCI Selection Committee from 2012-2016. Patil had a keen interest in cricket from a young age and made his debut in Ranji Trophy for Mumbai in 1975. In 1980, he made his Test debut against Pakistan. In his second test, he scored a fifty which helped him to get selected for the Australian tour. In December 1984, Patil played his last Test match against England. His last ODI match came in May 1986.
