  • The nanny involved in the 4-year-old's beheading, claimed that she was avenging the "spilled blood" of Muslims in Syria killed by Russian air strikes.

    She particularly pinpointed Russian President Vladimir Putin, who had declared in September that Russia would start air strikes "against terrorist groups" in Syria in support of President Bashar al-Assad.

    She also said she wanted to live in Syria.

  • A woman in Moscow beheaded a four-year-old girl and marched through the streets of Moscow carrying the child's severed head.

    Dressed in a burka, the woman, threatened to blow herself up when authorities tried detaining her as she walked near Oktyabrskoye Pole metro station.

    Investigators claim that the woman first started a fire at the child's house who had learning difficulties.

  • Police officials revealed that killer was a 38-year-old nanny named Gyulchekhra Bobokulova from Uzbekistan and the victim was a four-year-old girl named Anastasia (Nastya) Meshcheryakova.

    The woman had waited until the parents of Nastya had left the apartment with their older child and then killed the child.

    The police have begun investigations and the killer is undergoing a psychological evaluation.

  • Nastya's mother was hospitalised after she heard about her daughter's death.

    It was revealed that the victim had learning difficulties because of problems at the time of birth and could not walk.

    She had been taken to China for treatment and her family had been saving money to get her treated in Germany.

    The father, who was a technician was also in shock.

  • Russia's Children's Rights Commissioner Pavel Astakhov called the killing 'monstrous and inexplicable', and requested the parents to thoroughly monitor the mental state of nannies before they are hired.

  • While the motive behind the murder wasn't clear, several reports started doing the rounds.

    The woman reportedly told the police that she had killed the girl because "of her own husband's infidelity."

    An eyewitness said the woman was heard saying "'my child was killed…I will blow up everyone.''

    She was also heard shouting Allahu Akbar and 'I hate democracy'.

  • A witness Alyona Kuratova detailed the scene of chaos, with police cars and ambulances coming on the scene and people screaming: 'terror attack, terror attack.'

    Another said he saw people running away from the woman and that no one tried to stop her as she pulled the head out of her bag on the metro station.

    The metro was disrupted for a few hours.

  • The nanny arrested for decapitating a 4-year old and then walking across Moscow brandishing the severed head, told a Moscow court that "Allah ordered" the killing.

    She also said that: "Allah is sending a second prophet to give news of peace".

    The court approved the nanny's imprisonment and placed her in police custody for two months as investigations continued.
