The judge presiding over the gruesome Hong Kong double murder has asked the jury not to be swayed by "passion or disgust" over the torture, rape and killings.
British banker Rurik Jutting had asked for diminished responsibility due to intoxication and sexual disorders.
The jury, consisting of four women and five men will begin debating the verdict today.

British banker kills two sex workers in Hong Kong

British banker Rurik Jutting was arrested in 2014 for the slaying of two Indonesian girls Sumarti Ningsih and Seneng Mujiasih, in Hong Kong.
In November 2014, their bodies were discovered in Jutting's apartment, one shoved in a suitcase on the balcony and one on the floor.
The police had also found at least 26 small plastic bags of cocaine in Jutting's apartment.

The murderer, Rurik George Caton Jutting studied at Winchester College and got his first job with Barclays Bank in the United Kingdom. He was a former employee at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and had resigned a few days before the murder.

Trial begins, Jutting pleads not guilty

Rurik Jutting- accused of slaying two Indonesian women in Hong Kong appealed that he was "not guilty on grounds of diminished responsibility."
Instead, he pleaded guilty to a secondary charge of manslaughter, however, the jury rejected it.
Diminished responsibility is unstable mental disposition which makes a person "less answerable for murder".
It is accepted as grounds to lessen the charge to that of manslaughter.

Jury bears witness to gruesome Jutting's torture video

A Hong Kong court saw the recordings of Jutting torturing the 2 women in 2014 and subsequently murdering one.
He even confessed on the video saying: "My name is Rurik Jutting, about five minutes ago I just killed, murdered".
In total, 43 videos were played from Jutting's phone for 3 hours in the court.
He even admits to having raped two other women.

At British banker Rurik Jutting's third day of trial, it was revealed that he took "huge" amounts of cocaine, wine and energy drinks.
He's accused of murdering two women in Hong Kong by slitting their throats.
Dr Lau Fei Lung, director of Hong Kong's Poisoning Information Centre said that the alcohol and cocaine in his system were fatal and could have induced a coma.
