NYPD: Muslim teen fabricated assault story
The New York Police Department stated that Yasmin Seweid, an 18-year-old Muslim girl who complained about being assaulted by Trump supporters made up the entire story. Police said she made up the lie to avoid getting in trouble for breaking her curfew; she has been arrested. She was charged with filing a false report and obstructing governmental administration.
Days into Trump's regime, racist graffiti shows up
Within two days of Donald Trump's win in the US Presidential elections, racist, pro-Trump graffiti is showing up in parts of America, giving substance to fears of heightened bigotry in the US. Trump, throughout his presidential campaign, had been accused of fostering Islamophobia and xenophobia, and the aforementioned incidents have many US citizens worried about hate crimes.
Calls for a white America in Minnesota high school
A Minnesota high school student found racist graffiti scrawled on a bathroom wall in the school. The graffiti, which read "#GoBackToAfrica" and "Make America great again" raised serious concerns about racism in the States, while African American students found it threatening. The bathroom door also had graffiti on it which read "White America", "Whites Only" and "Trump".
Muslim student targeted in San Diego University
A Muslim student from San Diego State University (SDSU), while walking to her car, was confronted by two men who made pro-Trump and anti-Islam comments. The men proceeded to take her purse and her car, and are still at large. The San Diego police are still investigating the incident. SDSU President Elliot Hirshman called the incident a "hate crime" and called for solidarity.
Nazi-themed graffiti emerges in Philadelphia
A Nazi-themed graffiti emerged in South Philadelphia after Donald Trump won the election. The graffiti read, "Sieg Heil 2016!" (the Nazi salute), and "Trump!" with a Nazi Swastika replacing the T in Trump. Another graffiti was found on the wall of a house which read, "Trump Rules Black [expletive]". It is still unclear whether the graffiti is an anti-Trump protest or a pro-Nazi act.
Black doll hanged in New York
In west New York state, at Canisius College, students posted a photo on social media showing a black doll hanging by the neck from a dormitory curtain rod. John Hurley, the President of Canisius College, called the incident "disturbing" and said that several students had been suspended and could potentially be expelled. An independent investigator is being hired to determine the punishment.
"Deportation" letters handed to students in California
At Shasta High School in Redding, California, a student reportedly handed letters to half a dozen students with the word "Deportation" written on them. The student recorded a video of himself doing the same and posted it on Twitter. The video was later taken down after a parent-teacher meeting. The school Superintendent Jim Cloney said that disciplinary measures would be taken against the student.
Students, teacher reprimanded for Trump assassination skit
Two 10th grade students from Marshall High School in San Antonio have been reprimanded along with their teacher for performing a skit depicting the assassination of Donald Trump. A spokesperson for the Northside Independent School District, said they took "appropriate action" against the perpetrators and that they had apologized. Several parents had complained to the school after visiting the school to watch the skit.

Yasmin Seweid, an 18 year old Muslim student was assaulted in a New York subway by three drunk men who called her a terrorist and tried to rip off her Hijab, while screaming "Donald Trump." The NYPD's Hate Crimes Task Force is reviewing surveillance video to identify the men. This is the latest incident in a growing number of hate crimes in the US.
Pakistani's restaurant attacked twice in a week in Texas
A Pakistani restaurant in the US has been attacked twice in one week with racial and xenophobic undertones. ZaZa Bar & Bites in Galveston, Texas was covered in bacon in the first incident and the door handles were smeared with bacon grease in the second incident. Owner Asad Khan said he received 5 threatening phone calls and has complained to authorities.
