Maruti Suzuki has introduced the CNG model of its Multi-purpose Vehicle (MPV), the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, in India at Rs. 8.88 lakh.
The CNG model is only available with the VXI variant and is Rs. 70,000 costlier than the petrol model.
Notably, it promises an ARAI certified range of 26.20km/kg.

The Maruti Ertiga CNG retains the design of petrol-powered variants. It features a curvy body with chrome finished front grille and electrically adjustable outside rear view mirrors (ORVMs).
For lighting, the car gets adjustable headlamps, rounded fog lamps, and LED taillamps.
Moreover, it has a wheelbase of 2,740mm and boot space of 209 liters which is sufficient to keep your luggage.
Inside, the Maruti Ertiga CNG features a dual-tone cabin with fabric upholstery and gets a leather-wrapped multifunctional power-steering wheel.
Talking about electronic features, it gets a touchscreen infotainment panel with support for connectivity features like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The MPV also gets a bunch of new-age features like a 2 DIN integrated music system with 4 speakers, Bluetooth connectivity, and cooling cupholders.
The Maruti Ertiga CNG is powered by a 1.5-liter petrol engine which is capable of producing 92PS of power and 122Nm of peak torque.
The engine is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox and promises a mileage of 26.20km/kg.
Moreover, it gets a 60-liter CNG fuel tank along with the regular 45-liter petrol tank.
On the safety front, the Maruti Ertiga CNG gets disc brakes on the front wheels and drum brakes on rear wheels along with ABS and EBD.
The cabin comes equipped with dual airbags and a couple of advanced safety features including engine immobilizer for anti-theft, high-speed alerts, brake assist feature, and reverse parking sensor.
In India, the Maruti Ertiga CNG is available in solo VXI variant and is priced at Rs. 8.88 lakh which is Rs. 70,000 costlier than the petrol-based VXI model. At this price, the MPV goes up against rivals such as Honda WR-V and Mahindra Marazzo.
