US-based Indian Motorcycle has unveiled a new variant of its FTR 1200 motorcycle, the Rally.
The new model retains the mechanical specifications of the existing FTR 1200 range while sporting a bunch of design tweaks that make it more capable for off-road touring.
Notably, FTR 1200 Rally is likely to hit our shores sometime next year.
Here's our roundup.
Indian FTR 1200 Rally: At a glance
The Rally sits on the same tubular trellis frame as the other FTR 1200 models. However, it gets slightly tweaked ergonomics such as a more upright riding position and taller handlebars.
Besides that, it houses spoked wheels and Scorpion Rally STR tires that are designed for off-roading conditions.
The motorcycle also offers a fully-digital instrument cluster and an all-LED lighting setup.
Power and performance
The Indian FTR 1200 Rally is powered by the same 1,205cc, liquid-cooled V-twin engine that we have seen on other FTR 1200 motorcycles. This unit comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and is capable of producing 125bhp of power and 117.9Nm of peak torque.
Indian FTR 1200 Rally: On the road
On the safety front, the Indian FTR 1200 Rally comes equipped with 320mm disc brake on the front, 265mm disc brake on the rear, along with dual-channel ABS for improved road handling.
The suspension duties on the motorcycle are handled by inverted telescopic forks up front and a monoshock suspension on the rear.
And, when will it arrive in India?
According to reports, the US automaker may introduce the Indian FTR 1200 Rally in India sometime in 2020. As for the pricing, it will reportedly be positioned above the range-topping Race Replica model which costs Rs. 18.17 lakh.
