Luxury carmaker Volvo is gearing up to launch a new petrol-powered T4 variant of its popular SUV, the XC40, in India in a few days. And, now Autocar has reported that the luxurious SUV is expected to be priced at Rs. 39.90 lakh in the country. The report also noted that the petrol-based variant will not get an all-wheel-drive system. To recall, Volvo XC40 offers a premium sporty design featuring a dual-tone color scheme with blackened roof, blacked-out side claddings, and a chrome-finished grille along with company's emblem. The car comes with diamond-cut alloy wheels, dual exhausts, and a hands-free tailgate opening function. It also features indicator-mounted ORVMs, LED headlamps with integrated DRLs, and LED taillights. Inside, the Volvo XC40 features a five-seater cabin with power-adjustable ventilated seats, leather upholstery, and a multifunctional steering wheel with paddle shifters and adaptive cruise control. The car gets a fully-digital instrument console, a touchscreen infotainment panel, and wireless charging support. It also offers safety features like driver and passenger airbags, ABS with EBD, and automatic parking function. The T4 model of the XC40 will be powered by a 2.0-liter petrol engine which comes mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The mill is capable of producing 190bhp of maximum power and 300Nm of peak torque. Notably, the upcoming model will come with front-wheel-drive system as against the diesel-based variant which gets an all-wheel drive (AWD). Going by the report, the Volvo XC40 T4 will be priced at Rs. 39.90 lakh in India. However, there is no word on the official launch of the SUV yet. The car will be offered with BS4-compliant engine at the time of launch and an upgraded BS6-compliant model will be introduced before the April 2020 deadline.
