Bajaj Auto Ltd., which owns the Husqvarna brand, is all set to launch the Svartpilen 401 and Vitpilen 401 motorcycles in India next month.
In an interview with ZEE Business, Rakesh Sharma, Executive Director of Bajaj Auto, revealed that the company would launch the Husqvarna motorcycles in India in the first week of December.

The company may commence the deliveries from January or February
Sharma has also confirmed that the "retail sale of the motorcycles will commence from January or February 2020."
Notably, the bikes are likely to make a debut at the upcoming India Bike Week which is slated to kick-off in December.
Reports suggest these motorcycles might be unveiled alongside the launch of KTM 390 Adventure, considering KTM and Husqvarna are sister companies owned by Bajaj.
A look at both the motorcycles
The Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 and Vitpilen 401 motorcycles, which are currently available in select international markets, feature a naked street design with rounded headlamps as well as mirrors, spoked wheels, and narrow seats.
Besides that, the motorcycles also house off-road friendly tires and all-LED lighting setup for headlamp, turn indicators as well as taillights.
Power and performance
The Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 and Vitpilen 401 are likely to draw power from a BS6-compliant 373cc liquid-cooled engine which comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. This unit is capable of producing 43.5PS of power and 37Nm of peak torque.
What about safety and suspension setup?
In the safety department, the Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 and Vitpilen 401 motorcycles come equipped with disc brakes on both front and rear wheels, along with dual-channel ABS for improved braking efficiency.
Both models house 43mm inverted forks on the front and a mono-shock unit on the rear to handle the suspension duties.
And, what about pricing?
At present, there is no word on the pricing of Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 and Vitpilen 401 in India. However, reports suggest that the motorcycles are likely to cost somewhere around Rs. 2.8-3 lakh in the country.
