Jaguar has launched the 2020 edition of its popular luxury sedan, the XE, in India today, at a starting price of Rs. 44.98 lakh.
The facelifted model, which made its global debut in February this year, arrives with a bunch of updates including few design tweaks, some hi-tech features in the cabin, and BS6-compliant engines to meet the upcoming emission norms.

2020 Jaguar XE: At a glance
The 2020 Jaguar XE retains its sporty design while borrowing some elements from the F-Type sports car and the all-electric I-Pace SUV. However, it is is now lower and wider than the outgoing model.
Further, the facelifted XE gets a sharper bumper, sleek LED headlights, a blacked-out grille with honeycomb patterns, pentagonal air-intakes, indicator-mounted ORVMs, updated LED tail-lights, and new alloy wheels as well.

Inside the cabin
Inside the cabin, the new Jaguar XE gets leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, and an I-Pace inspired three-spoke multifunctional steering wheel.
There's also a Touch Pro Duo infotainment system which features a 10.2-inch touchscreen for connectivity, navigation, and more.
The 2020 model also supports wireless charging, smartphone connectivity (thanks to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), hill assist, lane-keep assist et al.

Power and performance
The India-specific 2020 Jaguar XE is offered in BS6-compliant diesel and petrol engines.
The 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo-petrol mill produces 250hp of power and 365Nm of peak torque while the 2.0-liter, four-cylinder, turbo-diesel unit churns out 180hp of power and 430Nm of torque.
Both models offer a rear-wheel-drive system which is powered by an 8-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox.
Pricing and rivals
The facelifted Jaguar XE starts at Rs. 44.98 lakh for the base-end S petrol as well as diesel variants and goes all the way up to Rs. 46.32 lakh for the top-end SE petrol and diesel variants (all prices ex-showroom, India).
In India, the 2020 edition takes on newer rivals like the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-class and Audi A4.
